Last night we went to Lincoln to scrimmage a really fast and athletic inner-city team from a well appreciated, well established and well arranged youth football company. As many of you understand I coach 2 teams this was my age 10-11 team, my younger group was on its own last night.
Sure, there are lots of similarities. There's a base of motions and exercises that everybody should do.however, how, when, and how much of them is rather different, particularly when it comes to the big guys up front!
I urge you to put in the effort to figure out your passion while you remain in high school. This will assist you narrow down the schools you wish to attempt to get in, since you can focus on the schools that football positions have actually excellent programs associated with your passion.
If there is something that simply eliminates me it's enjoying a big, strong lineman lose all of his power, strength and explosiveness because he does not have the versatility or strength needed to hold a low position. They lean forward when trying to block or tackle because their hips are tight and their low back and mid back aren't strong enough when extended. I don't care if you're as strong and huge as Reggie White, if you lean forward, anyone can beat you. Its basic physics.get 300lbs rolling forward and slanted down at high speeds and you'll see 300lbs hit the ground.
On defense we took the gloves off on the last series and we ran stunts on each and every single play. We actually worked our kids and ran every stunt we have in the playbook. We had at least 6 unfavorable yardage plays and we required 2 more turnovers as they never crossed mid-field.
Make a YouTube highlight video of your performance on the field. Simply 3-5 minutes long, tops. This movie's purpose is to produce interest, so you just desire your top football plays.
